1 John 1:5-2:2 In this letter, John makes the simple and wonderful statement that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. As we look upon the one who is light we recognise the insidious darkness that dwells within us and we start to realise just how good it is that Jesus stands, in his righteousness, as our advocate.

John 15:1-5 and verse 5 highlight the importance of staying connected to Christ, as a branch to the vine, to bear fruit, including the fruit of healing. Isaiah 32:14-16 further illustrates the Spirit's transformative power, bringing life and renewal. Together, these passages reveal that abiding in Christ and relying on the Holy Spirit empowers us to pray for the sick and witness miraculous healings.

In Luke 3.21-22 we see the baptism of Jesus and the descending of the Holy Spirit who becomes the source of Jesus' power for the whole of his ministry. This is the same Spirit who come to inhabit us when we are saved. The Holy Spirit is a person, He is a present in our very being and He is power.
