In Ephesians 5:15-18, Paul encourages believers to live wisely and make the most of every opportunity, emphasizing the importance of being continually filled with the Spirit. Amidst life's challenges and distractions, he underscores that the power of the Holy Spirit sustains and guides us, offering strength and clarity. This ongoing filling empowers us to walk faithfully, embracing the fullness of God's presence and purpose in our daily lives.

 

The gift of the Holy Spirit is one that should thrill and excite us - God himself has come to live inside of us! In this four part series we are looking at this gift and understanding what having the Holy Spirit really means for our lives.

In Luke 3.21-22 we see the baptism of Jesus and the descending of the Holy Spirit who becomes the source of Jesus' power for the whole of his ministry. This is the same Spirit who come to inhabit us when we are saved. The Holy Spirit is a person, He is a present in our very being and He is power.

Drawing from Romans 5:1-5, we explore how pain serves as a catalyst for growth. Amidst trials, we find endurance, character, and hope. Through our suffering, God shapes us, refining our faith and deepening our reliance on Him, ultimately leading to transformation and abundant life.

Acts 16:19-34 As look beyond the life of Jesus in the Bible, we see stories of God's Kingdom now coming in and through his people. In this story, Paul and Silas demonstrate the radical freedom of the people of God, and the life of their jailer is changed as a result.

Luke 24:1-12, 36-43 We finished our Kingdom Come by looking at the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday. As he appeared to the disciples, he appeared so that they could see, hear and experience for themselves that heaven truly has come to earth. He wants them, and us, to know this reality so we can tell the world that the new has come.

THE CRUCIFIXION | KINGDOM COME #10 | ROBIN COX

In Luke 23:26-49, we witness the profound sacrifice of Christ on the cross. Amidst agony, Jesus exemplifies forgiveness, compassion, and ultimate obedience to God's will. His crucifixion embodies the heart of redemption, paving the way for salvation and eternal life.

A SHAKEN WORLD | KINGDOM COME #9 | DUNCAN BELL

In Luke 21:5-19, 25-28, Jesus addresses the disciples' concerns about the future, using imagery of a shaken world to give us lessons about endurance and faith. He underscores that despite turmoil and upheaval, the Kingdom of God remains steadfast, offering hope amidst chaos, and encourages us to stand firm in our faith, knowing that redemption draws near!

THE GREAT BANQUET | KINGDOM COME #8 | GOKE OLUJINMI

In Luke 14:15-24, Jesus uses the parable of the great banquet to teach us that the Kingdom of God is a place of inclusivity and invitation, where all are welcome to experience the abundance of God's grace and fellowship. We are invited to enjoy the feast and we get to go and invite others to join too!
